About Me
Hi, I’m Mark Stephenson and I graduated from a rubbish comprehensive with qualifications in buffoonery, custard doughnut eating and smoking. After trying my hand at making lights, engineering, cleaning, stacking shelves and being a fulltime barman, I eventually realised my career prospects were as promising as “the cheque’s in the post”, you can’t live off custard doughnuts and smoking “because it makes you look hard” was bone.
It was while stacking shelves that I met a prospective Royal Marine recruit. We became friends and training partners and I realised what an exciting prospect the Royal Marines was and eventually decided to join the “Corps” too. The rest as they say, is history; but it ain’t over yet.
After 22 years of some of the most challenging, exciting, entertaining, educational, scary (and sometimes boring) adventures wearing the coveted Green Beret (and sometimes a dodgy beard like the one in Team America), I decided I wanted to share with you some of my experiences and hopefully, some of the skills I’ve learnt, to raise money and give something back to the Corps that made me the man I am today.
I am extremely proud to have served my country, I hope you like my blog.
