350 Years Old Today…

The Royal Marines are having the 350th anniversary of their formation today, the 28th October, 2014.

I’ve said it before, but I am extremely proud to be able to call myself a Royal Marine Commando.  I extend birthday wishes to all my fellow Bootnecks, especially to those families of colleagues who made the ultimate sacrifice and are no longer able to pull on their coveted green.

The Royal Marines is one of the oldest and most respected military groups anywhere in the world.  It boasts the longest recruit training of any other country and is constanlty at the forefront of British military operations.  If you want to read more about their history follow the link at the top of the site.
